About me.

Language is a key element in how we express ourselves and relate to others, and I’m endlessly fascinated by its flexibility, whimsy, and sheer power to convey knowledge, elicit feelings, and change the way people think.

As a queer, transgender/non-binary, and neurodivergent person (I use they/them pronouns), I am especially attuned to the impact words can have on marginalized individuals and communities.

Therefore, aside from my eight years in academia and four years of professional proofreading having honed my experience with many facets and uses of the English language, I approach editing through a lens of equity. Although not every piece of writing requires this lens, it’s better to have it and not need it than to not realize you need it in the first place.

My goal is to ensure that your writing is impactful and reaches your audience unimpeded by distractions.

I have studied pharmacy (Albany College of Pharmacy), geography (Portland State University), and geographic information science (Universität Zürich) academically, and I have additional years of self-study in a much wider range of topics including:

  • data science and programming

  • police and prison abolition

  • intersectional feminism

  • disability and racial justice

  • world history and geopolitics

  • political ecology

I pride myself on being a skilled researcher and detail-oriented editor by using all resources at my disposal,

and I’m looking forward to working with you.
